KaizoCore 1.0.0-rc15 (closed beta)
KaizoCore 1.0.0-rc15 (beta)
Install: download the .apk, allow installs from your browser or file manager when Android asks, open it. Install a newer APK over the old one; uninstalling wipes your games, saves, notes and attempt count.
Verify: the SHA-256 in the .sha256 file must match sha256sum KaizoCore-1.0.0-rc15.apk.
You need your own game dumps. Nothing here contains, links or fetches a ROM.
Your first run
- ROMS tab, ADD FILES, pick your dump. A zip is fine; it is unpacked on the phone.
- RUN tab, pick the game, pick a ruleset (Kaizo, Standard, Survival, Ultimate), NEW RUN. The randomizer runs on the phone with the official settings file for that game.
- PLAY. The tracker sits under the game in portrait and beside it in landscape.
PREP is only for Nat. Dex on Emerald or FireRed v1.1.
What is in this build
- Nineteen games on one app: Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, White, Black 2, White 2 (USA dumps; Ruby, Sapphire and LeafGreen v1.0). Each is verified by checksum.
- Official IronMON rulesets as presets, randomized on the phone; Gen 1's two-pass randomization done for you. The randomizer's log is kept per run.
- The IronMON tracker cloned from the PC trackers, Gen 1 to Gen 5: stats with the nature's + and -, moves seen, stat marks, notes, heals, badges, routes, the startup favorites (three, four or five as that game's tracker keeps them, per game).
- Game over as the PC tracker's popup: Continue playing, Retry the battle, Save this attempt, Inspect the log full screen, New game (new seed).
- DS: both screens, touch on the bottom screen in either orientation, X and Y on the pad, a SuperNDS-style landscape layout; GBA gets a My Boy-style layout.
- Eight save slots with screenshots, auto-save, rewind, slow motion, cheats (off on tracked runs), controllers, layouts, skins.
- Stream server: the game, the tracker and both DS screens as OBS browser sources, plus a clean view.
- RetroAchievements (softcore by default, hardcore locks the helpers), cloud sync through the file picker, backups that never contain a ROM.
- INFO tab: REPORT A BUG, EMAIL BLAKE sends the device, versions, last crash and log tail to blake@willowcreek.group.
Known issues
- Black has no tested dump yet; it is supported on paper only.
- Ruby, Sapphire and LeafGreen v1.1 and v1.2 cartridges are refused; only v1.0 has its tables.
- The ROMS tab can show an empty list on the first render after launch until you leave and re-enter it.
- A DS game wants a phone with at least 3 GB of RAM.
- DSi mode, the two-phone Game Boy link, rumble and tilt are built but not yet verified on hardware.
- RetroAchievements hardcore validation with the RA team is pending; until then the server may count unlocks as softcore.
