Critter Sounds 1.4.1
- Nearby finds your computer by itself after the first time: once a phone, tablet or browser has controlled it (and you pressed Allow), the two find each other again even when your network doesn't show them as neighbours.
- Pair by QR code: scan it with the phone's camera instead of typing the code.
- Remembered computers show in Nearby, and can be forgotten in Settings.
Critter Sounds 1.4.0
- Nearby: Critter Sounds finds the others on your network. A phone, tablet or another computer can control this one: you see who's asking and a code to check, and nothing happens until you press Allow.
- While it's controlled, sounds play here and downloads are saved here; the two talk directly over your network, never through the internet.
- Pair with a code when a device doesn't show up by itself.
- Critter Sounds in your browser at sounds.crittervtt.com, with layouts for phones and tablets.
- Every slider and search field has a name for screen readers.
Critter Sounds 1.3.0
- Critter Setup, a new installer in the Critter look; updates now download only what changed.
- A font for dyslexia (OpenDyslexic, with more room between lines and words), as in Critter VTT and Critter Notes.
- Sound pads, soundscape tiles and the node graph in the shared Critter design.
- The guided tour keeps every card clear of the window's edge, at any size.
- The version shows under the logo; the soundscape editor's toolbar starts below the title bar.
Critter Sounds 1.2.0
- Updates inside the app: Critter Sounds checks GitHub when it starts and updates with one click, with a progress bar
- Update now, Later or Skip this version, and a link to the full changelog
- Check for updates in Help, Settings and the Critter Sounds menu (German too)
- A GitHub button in Help and Settings
- Made with love by booskers / Polychrome
Everything else: CHANGELOG.md. Install this one by hand once; from here on, the app updates itself.
Windows installer (unsigned): Critter-Sounds-Setup.exe
Critter Sounds 1.1.0
- The shared Critter look (with Critter VTT and Critter Notes): surfaces lift by light instead of lines, drawn selects and checkboxes,
Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a see-through title bar showing the mark, the full logo in the header, glows only on hover. - New logo and app icons; the logo and the title-bar mark follow your highlight colour.
- Appearance: light or dark, surface tint, picture colour and font pairings. The cover spills its colours into the play bar, graded so text stays readable.
- One flat button style across the Critter apps: 8px corners, no outlines, gradients or lift; the main action and pressed toggles are filled with your highlight.
- Narrow windows fold their title-bar buttons into ⋯ (✕ always stays).
- "Old radio" no longer makes the music louder: loudness matching listens through a light hearing weighting, so every effect sits within about half a decibel of the dry music.
- Critter is now called Critter VTT in the text.
Windows installer (unsigned): Critter-Sounds-Setup.exe
Critter Sounds 1.0.0
The first public release of Critter Sounds: music, sound pads and soundscapes, played live to your Critter table, Discord or Fluxer.
Download: Critter-Sounds-Setup.exe below (Windows 10 and 11).
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn the first time: choose More info › Run anyway.
Includes: a warning before bringing in soundscapes whose Script nodes run code, and a fix for the table hearing nothing after a reconnect.
