Passphrases for Multiple Repos

I back up the same file set to multiple borg repos, (ie by calling borg twice). These were initially created with the same passphrase. My understanding is that the keys will still be different (due to separate inits).

1. What is the recommendation here? Should they use different passphrases? What are the current implications?
2. At this stage can one simply use change-passphrase on one repo to get to the same state as if different passphrases were used from the start? Or should a new repo be initialised?

You can decide that like you want, there is no technical problem.

Yes, you can change the passphrase at any time, that does not change the inner key material.
