Lossless MiniDV capture over USB on macOS (Apple Silicon) — the UVC DV-payload driver Apple never shipped.

Install (recommended): brew tap boriswinner/tap && brew install uvcdv-capture

Binaries below are unsigned arm64 builds: after downloading run
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <file> or right-click → Open.
uvcdv-capture-*.zip — the CLI; UVCDV-Capture-*.app.zip — the GUI app
(includes the CLI inside). The GUI's encode/preview features need
brew install ffmpeg.

Highlights: auto-detection of UVC-DV cameras, tape transport control over USB
(play/stop/rew/ff + live timecode), scene splitting (--split), on-the-fly
H.264 with optional 50i→50p deinterlace, terminal preview, JSON status for
frontends, native macOS GUI. Tested on Panasonic NV-GS330: 0 damaged frames,
