Cosmos Homepage 1.2.0
Cosmos Homepage 1.2.0
This release turns Cosmos from a visual overview into a more complete, honest, and practical homepage for everyday Obsidian use.
What is new
- Native settings for the homepage headline, startup behavior, focus duration, excluded folders, and reduced motion.
- One reusable source tab: opening tasks, calendar entries, recent notes, or theme results keeps Cosmos open and reuses a single adjacent note tab.
- A real focus launcher: choose a recent note, start or pause a local session, reset it, and open the target. The timer never writes to your notes.
- Interactive theme panels: select a constellation to see the real notes behind that tag, sorted by last edit, with keyboard navigation and reliable focus return.
- An honest creation calendar with month navigation and daily note lists. Dates light up only from creation evidence, not unrelated activity.
- Clearer language: unfinished Markdown tasks are now presented as Open tasks, with no invented decision or maturity states.
- Better first-run guidance for empty and sparse vaults.
- Stronger lifecycle handling for metadata bursts, timers, listeners, panels, and closed views.
Privacy and scope
Cosmos remains local, read-only, and account-free. It makes no network requests, calls no AI service, and does not edit notes or create a second database. The screenshots use synthetic demo metadata.
Install or update
Install Cosmos Homepage from Obsidian's Community plugins, or download main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css below for manual installation.
Verification
- 44 automated tests passed.
- Public safety, lint, bundle load, accessibility, lifecycle, mobile touch target, and deterministic build checks passed.
- Metadata projection benchmarked with 1,000 and 10,000 synthetic files.
- Release assets were built in GitHub Actions and include GitHub build provenance attestations.
