ADK CLI v1.16.2
What's New in ADK v1.16.2
Redesigned Dev Console
The ADK dev console (adk dev) received a major overhaul with new pages, better navigation, and a consistent design language.
- New Control Panel — Redesigned dashboard with agent identity, environment overview, and component stats at a glance
- Actions page — Browse all agent and integration actions, view schemas, and invoke them directly from the UI
- Workflows page — List-detail layout showing workflow definitions alongside run history and state inspection
- Triggers page — View all registered triggers with their event types and configurations
- Logs page — Redesigned with better filtering and readability
- Traces polish — Improved span details sheet, timeline markers, and design token consistency
- Config variables — Manage agent config vars directly from the Settings page in the dev console — no CLI round-trip needed
- Integration action testing — Fire integration actions from the Actions tab to test webhooks, API calls, etc.
- Updated sidebar icons and favicon — Refreshed iconography and a blue ADK favicon to match the brand
CLI Theme Command
Personalize your terminal experience with adk theme. Choose from multiple color palettes, and your preference persists across sessions.
Simplified Debugger
The adk dev --debug workflow now uses VS Code's native launch.json attach configuration instead of managing its own inspector process. Less moving parts, more reliable breakpoints.
Better CLAUDE.md for New Projects
adk init now generates a minimal, skill-aware CLAUDE.md instead of the previous 1300-line template — just the essentials to get AI assistants productive in your project.
Evals (Coming Soon)
A full-featured evaluation framework for testing agent behavior end-to-end is landing in an upcoming patch. Define test scenarios, run them from the CLI or dev console, and get graded results with multiple grader types.
