Wrayth 1.4.2
Wrayth 1.4.2
Bug fixes. Nothing new to learn: everything works as before, more reliably.
- The shell starts on systems without Qt Multimedia. Before, the background,
the lockscreen and every full-screen view depended on it (for video
wallpapers), so without it the shell did not load at all. - SIGNAL can no longer hang other apps' audio. It now listens to your output
device only, and is never paused, so a browser's new video never waits on
it. It follows your output when you switch (for example to headphones). - Text from outside the shell is always shown as plain text: track titles in
the bar's ticker, the Wi-Fi network's name and tray menus could be drawn as
formatted text before. - Admin prompts keep working after the shell restarts itself following a
crash (the prompt agent now retries its registration). - Settings files you have edited by hand are never replaced with defaults if
they contain a typo (system.json, privacy.json). - Your interface scale (SYSTEM page) is restored after logging in and after
Hyprland reloads its config. - REDUCED MOTION and game mode now stop every glitch, including the ones
triggered by opening the deck or applying a profile. - Deleting a wallpaper from the library also removes it from your pools, even
if you leave without saving. - The CPU and MEM readouts reserve exactly the width of their values.
- The colour picker's marker is square, like everything else.
- Packages: libnotify is now required (the shell's own notices need it);
qt6-multimedia-ffmpeg is recommended for video wallpapers. - README corrections: the optional-packages command, interface names and
messages, and the icon credits.
To update: wrayth-update. It asks before installing any new package.
Wrayth 1.4.0
Everything since 1.1.0, in one release.
New
- Audio: a bar readout and dropdown with output and input devices, volume, mute and a per-app mixer. New outputs (Bluetooth, USB, HDMI) become active automatically.
Super + Shift + Acycles outputs. - System tray, with each app's menu on right-click.
- Media in SIGNAL: what's playing, with controls, a per-source spectrum, and a progress bar you can click or drag to seek.
- Screenshots and screen recording, with privacy indicators for recording, screen sharing, microphone and camera.
- COMMS: notification history (memory only), Do Not Disturb, and quiet notifications while a game is fullscreen.
- Clipboard history (memory only by default) and a keybinds overlay that lets you rebind keys.
- Calendar, night light, input-method switching, launcher modes (calculator, emoji, commands), airplane mode and VPN.
- SYSTEM page: interface scale, reduced motion, game mode, idle timings, and optional window switcher and overview (off by default).
- Per-screen and live wallpapers, and an optional weather daemon.
- An admin password prompt in the lockscreen's style.
Improved
- A full visual pass for consistency, with crisp icons throughout.
- Lower idle CPU, and the lockscreen can no longer freeze or be bypassed by reloading.
Updating
- From 1.1.0: run
wrayth-update. It shows the new packages it needs and asks before installing them. - From 1.0.0: re-run the install command from the README once; after that,
wrayth-updatehandles updates.
