v1.22.0
What's New
Ace Stream P2P Streaming Integration
Replaced the previous web-based streaming integration with native Ace Stream support. Ace Stream uses peer-to-peer technology to deliver high-quality live F1 streams directly to the device.
- The app searches the P2P network for available F1 channels, sorted by language (English first) and stream quality (4K, FHD, HD).
- Sky Sports Main Event UK is pinned as the top recommendation with a "Reliable" badge, as it consistently broadcasts F1 in English.
- A built-in stream preview allows users to verify the stream is correct (language, quality) before launching in Ace Player, avoiding the 30-second ad that Ace Player plays on each stream start.
- Requires the free Ace Stream app to be installed separately. The app provides setup guidance if Ace Stream is not detected.
- Automatic engine detection on app launch with background wake-up.
Live Screen Tabbed Interface
The live session screen now uses two tabs when a session is active:
- Timing (default): Displays the live timing sheet with driver positions, gaps, tyre compounds, and lap data.
- Stream: Houses the Ace Stream integration in a dedicated view, keeping the timing data uncluttered.
Automatic Timezone Detection
All session times (schedule, countdown, race details) now use the device's local timezone instead of a hardcoded region. Users worldwide will see correct local times without any manual configuration.
UI Improvements
- Streams list is vertically scrollable with no cap on visible channels.
- Preview and error states include a prominent back-to-channels button at the top of the view.
- ExoPlayer buffering timeout extended to 15 seconds for P2P streams that take longer to initialize.
- Initial loading state shows a spinner instead of briefly flashing "Engine Offline" on app launch.
- Preview error state retains the option to launch directly in Ace Player even if the in-app preview fails.
