blake.bike v0.5.2
blake.bike can find Bluetooth devices on Macs where macOS was quietly blocking it.
Fixed
- On some Macs, every Bluetooth scan came back empty, even with Bluetooth on and devices nearby. The app was missing the signature macOS uses to tie the Bluetooth permission to it, so macOS never asked. After updating, scan once and choose Allow when macOS asks.
Installing
Open the dmg and drag blake.bike to Applications. The build is not signed or
notarized, so macOS blocks the first launch with "Apple could not verify blake.bike
is free of malware". To allow it:
- Double-click blake.bike in Applications, then click Done on the warning.
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security.
- Next to "blake.bike was blocked to protect your Mac", click Open Anyway and authenticate.
- Click Open in the confirmation dialog.
macOS only asks once. Control-clicking the app and choosing Open does not work.
Updating
Quit blake.bike, then drag the newer copy over the one in Applications. Rides,
workouts and settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/com.bpeterman.blakebike
and are left alone.
The dmg is universal: native on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
