AI Harmony — The Fable Edition (revised and updated, June 2026)
The 2026 update of AI Harmony, produced the way the book says work should be produced: by the human author collaborating with an AI agent (built on a model named Fable, hence the name).
What's new
- Preface to the Fable Edition — the method, the scoreboard, and what didn't change
- Blue 2026 update: margin notes throughout — the original 2023 text is preserved; the hindsight lives in the margins
- Ch. 1: The Race to the Bottom (A 2026 Update) — DeepSeek, Chinese open weights, collapsing inference prices, the datacenter capex boom, the junior-jobs data, and a closing note on recursive self-improvement: the models are eating themselves, and nothing in the 2023–2026 record suggests a durable technological lead exists at the frontier
- Ch. 4: 2026 copyright postscript — Getty v. Stability, the $1.5B Anthropic settlement, NYT v. OpenAI
- Ch. 5: a new model card — The Agentic Coworker (New for 2026)
- Ch. 6: I Bought the Tesla (A 2026 Confession) — why "supervised" became a legal label rather than an engineering description
- Ch. 7: The Drone Wars Arrived (A 2026 Update) — Ukraine's machine-vision drones, Operation Spiderweb, Lavender and The Gospel, the twelve-day Israel–Iran war
- ~40 new verified sources in the bibliography, plus corrections and typo fixes throughout
