Installing
Raspberry Pi 5 (ready-to-flash image) — write *.img.xz to an SD
card with Raspberry Pi Imager or xz -dc … | sudo dd of=/dev/sdX bs=4M.
Verify with the accompanying .sha256. The image boots straight into
vstimd.target, advertises itself over mDNS, and exports /etc/braemons
as a Samba share. Log in over SSH as vstimd-admin / vstimd —
you are forced to change the password at first login. The Samba
credential is separate and also starts out needing a change; set it
once over SSH with smbpasswd, which syncs the Unix password to
match. Treat these rigs as lab-network devices: the default login is
public, so the network is the security boundary.
Debian / Ubuntu — sudo apt install ./braemons-vstimd_*_<arch>.deb
Fedora / RHEL — sudo dnf install ./braemons-vstimd-*.<arch>.rpm
braemons-gpiochip-daqd is packaged separately; install it alongside
