First public release of Iliad MD — a local-first markdown writing workspace for macOS, with an agent inside.

Website: https://iliad.md

Install (macOS)

  1. Download Iliad.MD-0.1.0-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon, macOS 13+)
  2. Open it and drag Iliad MD to Applications

The app is signed and notarized by Apple — it opens without warnings.

What's inside

  • Visual markdown editor — syntax hides on inactive lines; tables, images, links and embeds render in place; drag or paste images and they're saved beside your document
  • Local-first workspace — plain .md files on your disk are the source of truth; permanent autosave; open the same folder with any other app or agent
  • Integrated agent (bring your own OpenAI API key or Codex login, in Settings):
    • Anchored edits — a typo fix touches the typo; review hunk by hunk, inside the document
    • AGENTS.md standing instructions, kept in markdown next to your work
    • Per-turn process receipts: what the agent read, searched, and left out
    • Editor selection as context; history with budget and compaction for long threads
  • Telegram remote (optional, read-only) — through a relay you deploy yourself (relay/telegram)
  • English & Español interface

Notes

  • Credentials are stored in local app data and never ship with the app. Your prose goes only to the provider you chose, on your own key.
  • Requires Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel and Windows builds: watch this repo.
