Breadboard 3.2 is here!

  • 🎬 Add support for videos (contribs: @Instellate).
    You can now browse and play videos in Breadboard! In addition to general playback, we're also giving you basic playback options like pause/resume, muting/unmuting, and seeking, plus the ability to control whether or not they play automatically.

    • By default, videos will not play automatically. You can change this in settings with options being Always, Never, or dependent on your data saver state.
    • Videos that start automatically will be muted until you manually unmute either by tapping the unmute icon, pressing the volume up button on your device, or pressing "M" on a connected keyboard.
    • Tapping a video or hovering over it with a mouse will bring up the controls. Long press or right/secondary click it to show/hide the toolbar. Like images, you can also tap outside the video window to show/hide the toolbar.
    • Gelbooru is the exception to this and videos on Gelbooru are not supported just yet.

  • 🗂️ Two-tab info sheet layout
    Updates the image info sheet to a split two-tab design, putting the most important info like source, artists, characters, and copyrights front-and-centre.

    • You can switch the layout back to a single unified list by enabling the Classic info sheet option in settings.
    • The info now also truncates each tag group by showing up to 10 rows of tags before offering the option to expand it.

  • 🏷️ Support tag groups on Gelbooru-based sources (contribs: @flazepe).
    Tag groups (artists, characters, copyrights, general, meta) are now supported on Safebooru, Gelbooru, and R34!

    • This will work for all posts in search, as well as all favourites originally saved on version 2.7.0 and newer.

  • Support tapping the 📋 on the search bar to open a copied image link in the app (contribs @flazepe).

  • Better deep link support (contribs: @flazepe).

  • Better Pixiv link support for determining the art source (contribs: @flazepe).

  • Expressive UI updates with smoother animations in a few places.

  • Fix tags being decoded improperly (contribs: @flazepe).

  • Fix Gelbooru image loading by providing Referer header.

  • Fix R34 on old Android versions.

  • Remove every reference to the old name moe.apex.rule34.

    • An alias for the old entry point has been added to avoid breaking people's home screen shortcuts.

  • Other general bug fixes and improvements.

Warning

Legacy builds with the package name moe.apex.rule34 have been discontinued.

If you installed Breadboard via the Google Play Store or via GitHub using a -play (later non-suffixed) release, you don't need to do anything. Just update like normal. This should be the vast majority of people.

For everyone else, you must switch to the modern Breadboard in order to continue receiving support and updates.
