Allow fusing grid borders

In some instances, it may be helpful to (topologically) fuse opposite borders of the grid. Examples include maps where crossing the eastern grid border should result in arriving at the western grid border.
Adding this functionality should entail small modifications to /core/grid.py. Happy to take on this issue if needed.
