v3.1.0 — Centralized Data Directory
Centralized Data Directory
Index data now lives at ~/.codetect/projects/<name>-<hash>/ instead of per-project .codetect/ directories. Projects no longer need .gitignore modifications.
What's new
- Centralized storage — all index data (SQLite databases, merkle trees, eval artifacts) stored under
~/.codetect/projects/ - Auto-migration — existing
.codetect/directories are automatically migrated on first use - Stable keys — git remote URL hash ensures the same data directory survives repo moves/renames
codetect version— new command to check installed version- Quieter updates —
codetect updateno longer shows beta tag warnings
Upgrade
codetect update
codetect index # re-indexes; auto-migrates existing .codetect/ dataNo manual migration needed — codetect index handles it automatically.
