Projects built by the Bronto team and community — for everyone who cares about observability.
Welcome! This is the community home of Bronto, the intelligent observability data platform. Everything here is unofficial, experimental, or just plain fun — built by Brontos and friends, and shared in the open because someone else might find it useful too.
Looking for Bronto's official open source projects, integrations, and developer tooling? Head over to github.com/brontoio.
This org is intentionally broad. Projects range from polished tools to weekend experiments:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| 📚 Tutorials & guides | Hands-on walkthroughs, sample setups, learning material |
| ✍️ Blog posts & collateral | Drafts, companion code, talk material, demos |
| 🤖 Agents & automation | Internal AI agents and workflows we're able to share |
| 🦕 Bronto-specific projects | Tools, extensions, and experiments built around Bronto |
| 🔭 Observability at large | Broader logging, metrics, tracing, and OpenTelemetry projects |
| 🧪 Everything else | If it's useful and shareable, it belongs here |
| Project | What it does |
|---|---|
| bronto-cli | A community command-line client for the Bronto observability platform. It wraps Bronto's REST and ingestion APIs in a single scriptable binary: search and tail logs, explore OpenTelemetry traces, send events, and manage resources (datasets, monitors, dashboards, parsers, exports, API keys) |
| v0-BrontoVibe | A modern log exploration and observability dashboard for Bronto, built with Next.js 15 and designed for the Vercel platform. |
| events-helper | AI agent that tracks tech-conference CfPs & events, matches them to team/personal interests, files them into Jira, and posts digests/alerts to Slack. Built on eve. |
| bronto-grafana-datasource | A Grafana data source plugin for querying and visualizing Bronto logs directly in Grafana dashboards and Explore. |
| homebrew-tap | Homebrew tap for bronto-cli |
| bronto-aws-savings-report | Audit AWS observability spend and project apples-to-apples savings on Bronto.io. Walks the org, attributes S3 log sinks, optionally probes OpenSearch / VPC Flow Logs / AMP per account/region with --probe. Deepest analysis tier — pair with PROMPT.md in the sibling repo for LLM-driven follow-up. |
| aws-observability-bill-vs-bronto | Audit AWS observability spend (CloudWatch/X-Ray/AMP/AMG/OpenSearch/CloudTrail) via Cost Explorer and project apples-to-apples savings on Bronto.io — AWS-side floor stays, displaceable spend converts. Ships a portable PROMPT.md for Claude Code / Codex CLI / Antigravity, plus a CE-only Python fallback. |
We'd love your input, whether you're on the Bronto team or not:
- Found a bug or have an idea? Open an issue on the relevant repo.
- Want to improve something? Pull requests are welcome everywhere.
- Built something that fits here? Open an issue on any repo (or reach out) and let's talk about bringing it in.
Each project documents its own setup and contribution details in its README.
Projects in this org are community-maintained and not officially supported by Bronto. They come with no SLAs and may move fast, break things, or be gloriously unfinished. For supported integrations and tooling, see github.com/brontoio.
