Pictures and emoji, and a handful of fixes underneath them.
Insert an image
You can now add an image from inside the editor. Reach for it from the Insert menu, the slash menu, or the command palette — a file picker opens and the image lands where your cursor was.
Dragging an image in and pasting one already worked; this closes the gap for the times you have a file on disk and nothing on the clipboard. Whichever way it arrives, the picture is copied into an assets folder beside your note and written as a plain Markdown link, so the file stays yours and stays readable in any other editor.
Insert emoji
Type : followed by a name — :wave, :coffee — and a picker opens inline. Keep typing to narrow it, or pick from the grid. There is also an Emoji entry in the Insert menu if you would rather browse the full set by category.
The trigger stays out of your way. Times like 3:30, a colon after a word, and URLs never open it, and typing a colon on its own does nothing until you follow it with a letter. An emoji is written as an ordinary character, so it travels anywhere text travels.
Fixes
Deleting an emoji takes one press. Backspace used to remove only half of one, leaving a broken character behind — and a family emoji took eleven presses to clear. Emoji, skin tones, flags, and accented letters now delete as the single character they look like.
Tag suggestions keep up with you. Backspacing while writing a #tag left the suggestion list showing what you had typed a moment earlier. It now follows every keystroke, forwards and back.
