Skrive 1.8.7 — Audit P4: posture & polish

This release closes out the editor-quality audit that has driven the last three releases. It is all polish and posture — no new surfaces, no changed workflows, just an editor that holds up better under weight.

Big documents feel light

Selecting text by dragging in very large documents used to stall badly — at ten thousand blocks, each frame of the drag could take over two seconds. It now tracks instantly. Formatting a huge selection (select all, then bold) went from about twelve seconds to about one. Typing latency in large documents improved too, and a stricter automated performance gate now watches both numbers so they cannot quietly regress.

Right-to-left writing works

Every paragraph, heading, list item, quote, and table cell now lays itself out in its own text's direction. Hebrew and Arabic read right-aligned with quote rules and list markers on the correct side, mixed-direction lines behave, and a single document can hold both directions comfortably.

Decisions, written down

The audit's last open questions each got a deliberate answer rather than a shrug: spellcheck stays off for now — the investigation found the reliable path and the groundwork shipped in this release — and the remaining performance headroom is mapped and tracked rather than forgotten.
