Repository navigation
The first public release of freewave, an album-focused Subsonic/MPD GUI. It connects to a Music Player Daemon (MPD) server or any Subsonic-compatible server, such as Navidrome, Gonic, Ampache, or LMS.
Installing
Debian and Ubuntu: use the apt repository (Debian 13, Debian unstable, Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 26.04). Steps in INSTALL.md. It updates through apt like any other package.
Everything else: download freewave-0.9.3.flatpak below and run
flatpak install --user freewave-0.9.3.flatpak
If the KDE runtime (org.kde.Platform 6.10) is not installed yet, flatpak offers to fetch it from Flathub. The bundle does not auto-update; install the next release the same way.
From source: see INSTALL.md.
Changes in 0.9.3
Bugfixes:
- Says "Authentication failed" when a server rejects your username or password, instead of claiming the server is offline or unreachable
- Releases the audio device when the queue runs out. Previously, on PipeWire, the last few seconds of the final track could play again by themselves hours later
- The progress bar returns to the start when playback stops or the queue runs out, instead of staying where it was (Subsonic servers)
The full history is in CHANGELOG.
