Release list
Reelbird 0.1.1
Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple: unzip, drag to Applications, open. No Open Anyway step, and macOS keeps your permissions across updates. Also: privacy blur, arrows, boxes, text and highlights; speed, markers and camera layouts; a movable camera bubble in three shapes; a command menu (⌘K).
Reelbird 0.1.0
The first public release of Reelbird: a free, open-source screen recorder for macOS that copies a share link the moment you stop recording, then lets you polish the same take with auto-zoom, a smooth cursor and captions without changing the link.
Install
Download Reelbird-0.1.0.zip below. It's for Apple silicon Macs on macOS 15 or later.
It isn't notarised by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to approve it once:
- Unzip it and drag Reelbird to your Applications folder.
- Open it. macOS says it can't verify the developer. Choose Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway next to Reelbird.
After an update, macOS may ask for Screen Recording permission again. Or build it from source in a few minutes, with no Xcode.
