1.0.3 - Declarative settings and attested builds
What's new in 1.0.3
Added
- Declarative settings — plugin settings now appear in Obsidian's built-in settings search on 1.13.0+; the classic settings UI remains for older versions
- README: comparison table with other table plugins (Better Tables, Advanced Tables)
Changed
- Attested builds — release assets are now built by GitHub Actions with artifact attestations, so anyone can cryptographically verify they were built from this repository's source
- Resize handle created with Obsidian's
createElhelper; drag persistence write explicitly marked as fire-and-forget
Upgrade
The plugin updates automatically from within Obsidian. Manual install: download main.js, manifest.json, styles.css and copy them into .obsidian/plugins/table-column-resizer/.
1.0.2 - Community review fixes
Fixes automated review findings: style assignments now use Obsidian's setCssStyles API, type-safe data loading, awaited persistence writes, createEl helper, no !important in drag styles, reproducible builds via package-lock.json.
1.0.1 - Critical bug fixes
What's fixed in 1.0.1
This release fixes three critical bugs — if you tried 1.0.0 and it didn't work, this one should.
The plugin now actually loads (#5)
manifest.json was invalid JSON (a missing comma), so Obsidian silently skipped the plugin — it never appeared in the community plugins list after manual installation. Fixed.
Columns can now exceed 500px (#4)
A hardcoded CSS max-width: 500px !important overrode the plugin's own settings. Column widths now respect the maximum you configure (Settings → Table Column Resizer).
Column widths are now actually saved
An async/await bug meant widths were never restored, and worse — every drag overwrote the plugin's data file with an empty object, wiping your settings. Persistence is rewritten: settings and per-table widths are stored separately and survive restarts.
Also improved
- Resize handles live on header cells only (previously every cell had one, and dragging from body rows could crash)
- Tables switch to fixed layout while dragging so widths track the mouse precisely
- Plugin styles no longer restyle every table in your vault — borders, padding, and backgrounds come from your theme again
- English settings panel with an enable/disable toggle
- Repo cleanup: removed 30+ scaffolding files, fixed broken links, added
