PurpleDragonFlipperStudio v1.0.2 — Audit & Polish

Neon GUI v1.0.2 · Created by KyleAustinHillier @PurpleDragonFoundationLtd

  • Preserves corrupt preset data across delete/rename/duplicate/export instead of replacing it with empty data.
  • Adds shared bounded UTF-8/JSON imports, duplicate-key checks, nesting and numeric limits, and invalid-Unicode handling.
  • Makes local backup validation cancellation-aware and prevents a cancelled download from replacing an existing local file.
  • Requires recognized SD mutation replies and handles partial/invalid serial writes correctly.
  • Disables device work while shutdown waits, suppresses cancellation-as-fault messages, and clears old workspace errors after reconnect.
  • Clears stale restore previews and IR capability flags.
  • Handles malformed saved geometry/numbers, adds command-favorite local checks, and prevents long names from widening compact pages.
  • Gives disabled GPIO buttons neutral styling, removes unsupported heading glyphs/duplicate help text, and improves long-name/activity tooltips.

199 automated tests include 22 new audit regressions. All workspace pages were inspected at compact and desktop sizes at 200% scaling without horizontal page overflow. Windows CI builds, launches, packages and verifies the actual executable and matching source archive. See AUDIT-v1.0.2.md for scope and evidence.

Install by extracting the complete Windows-x64 ZIP into a new folder and running the executable beside _internal. Export settings and IR libraries before upgrading. Invalid stores remain preserved; recover them from a valid backup before editing. The UID64 identity fix from 1.0.1 remains included.

Physical GPIO/IR/SD and firmware testing remains pending. This software audit and automated testing do not establish that every bug is eliminated. Disconnect does not undo GPIO writes, IR emission or SD changes already performed.

PurpleDragonFlipperStudio v0.3.0

QoL Release & Help Center

Neon GUI v0.3.0 · Created by KyleAustinHillier @PurpleDragonFoundationLtd

A neon-themed Windows desktop companion for serial workflows, local GPIO presets, IR file inspection, settings backups, and diagnostics.

Download and run

Recommended for Windows: Download
PurpleDragonFlipperStudio-v0.3.0-Windows-x64.zip.

  1. Extract the entire ZIP into a new folder.
  2. Run PurpleDragonFlipperStudio.exe.
  3. Keep the _internal folder beside the executable.

No separate Python installation is required for the Windows package.

Source package: For Python development, extract the source ZIP, run Setup.bat, then Start.bat. Setup supports standard 64-bit CPython 3.10–3.14.

Features

  • Neon interface with eight themes and animated Matrix background.
  • Saved window placement, workspace selection, and appearance preferences.
  • Serial-port discovery, connection feedback, and per-port mode/baud settings.
  • UART Console with command recall, transcript search, and auto-scroll controls.
  • Local GPIO presets with duplication, rename, and overwrite confirmation.
  • Searchable activity logs with severity filters and export options.
  • Validated settings backup and restore.
  • IR signal-name browsing and basic file-structure warnings.
  • Exportable diagnostics and searchable Help Center through F1.

Fixes and validation

  • Fixed compact GPIO layout overflow on Windows.
  • 62 automated tests passed.
  • Windows executable packaging completed successfully.
  • The packaged app was tested by the creator and confirmed working.

The Windows package includes the layout correction. The original source attachment and tag-based source downloads predate that fix; use the latest main branch for corrected source.

Current hardware support

Serial text transport and local tools are available.

GPIO hardware reads/writes, IR transmission, SD-card backup, app installation, and device telemetry still require RC7 backend integration. Opening a serial port does not verify Flipper identity. Physical hardware integration remains unverified.

Upgrading

Extract into a new folder and export a settings backup before upgrading. Existing saved user settings are reused.
