Warning

Breaking change: Legacy container runtime support removed

  • v5.0.0 upgrades Alpine from 3.12 to 3.24 and removes the no-faccessat2 workaround for older container runtimes. Bash and other system packages are also newer; Bats remains at 1.14.0.
  • Older Docker/container runtime or libseccomp configurations that block faccessat2 may now fail with BATS_TMPDIR (/tmp) is not writable, even when permissions are correct. Upgrade the host runtime and libseccomp rather than disabling seccomp or using privileged mode. For Docker-in-Docker, check both the outer and inner runtimes.
