Choose a tag to compare

@bunnysayzz bunnysayzz released this 10 Jul 15:46

Your terminal, one edge away. Nudge the mouse to your chosen screen edge and the terminal glides in; move away and it glides out. Sessions keep running while hidden.

Highlights

  • Edge reveal with spring animation and behind-window blur
  • Sessions stay alive while hidden — Claude CLI, SSH, tmux, and long builds keep running
  • Session switcher — up to 10 live sessions, switch instantly
  • Intelligent auto-hide — never hides while you type, select, drag, or scroll
  • Native settings applied live, with a macOS-style shortcut recorder
  • Menu bar app with an optional Dock icon and workspace restore across reboots

Install

  1. Download SideTerminal.dmg below, open it, and drag SideTerminal onto the Applications folder.

  2. SideTerminal is open source and unsigned, so macOS Gatekeeper blocks it on first launch. Allow it once by running in Terminal:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SideTerminal.app

    Then open it normally. (Alternatively: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.)

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon.
