Release list
Dejavu v2.3.3
Dejavu 2.1 to 2.3.3: Workspaces can reopen closed tabs and move tabs with arrows or drag strips. Chips above the address bar pick a new tab's container and search engine. Sync offers a merge or fresh-start choice and works with Zen folders and temporary containers. New: tracking protection screen, Quad9 secure DNS, uBlock Origin by default, about:config in release builds. Stronger security and privacy: site isolation, HTTPS-Only, stricter TLS, no Mozilla experiments. Plus many sync and private-browsing fixes.
Dejavu v2.3.0
Drag tabs, pinned tabs and folders to another workspace through the strips at the sides of the screen. New buttons next to a workspace's name reopen closed tabs and open a copied link. Chips above the address bar pick the container and search engine of a new tab. Tabs in temporary containers now sync with Zen too. Fewer search shortcuts at first, with GitHub and Stack Overflow added. Unpinned tabs in Zen folders now keep their folder. Also a tidier Account section and address bar fixes.
Dejavu v2.1.0
- Workspaces sync with Firefox or Zen from the account page, Dejavu pictures instead of Firefox's, and less memory and a smaller app
- A tab opened in a Firefox computer's workspace opens in Firefox on that computer, and Firefox no longer lists it under the phone
- Dejavu 2.0: every Firefox computer and phone is a workspace that only opens and closes tabs, What's new after updates, and author and coffee links in Settings
- F-Droid recipe now builds Dejavu 2.0.1 from the dejavubuild fork on Firefox 159.0b1
- Essentials of a row that is not full spread evenly over the line
- Split view is offered only when exactly two tabs are selected
- Drop a tab on another tab to split them, and split tabs share one row like in Zen
- No empty strip under Default download location in Download settings
- What's new counts every page of the tour, not only the chapter shown
- Room between the workspace icons and the buttons next to them on the home screen
- Reset to pinned URL gets its own icon, so it no longer looks like Reload
- New action: Replace pinned URL with current
- Black snackbars and tooltips in the dark themes
- Private browsing's purple is no longer among the workspace themes
- The computer icon is no longer offered for workspaces
- Split pinned tabs share one row in the pinned section too
- Temporary containers come last in every container list
- Close puts a pinned tab of a Firefox device's workspace to sleep, then unpins it
- Drag buttons into the rows of the More menu, on a screen split in two
- The actions bar is the top line of the More menu editor, and Reset is an icon at the top
- Release notes for Dejavu 2.1.0
Dejavu v2.0.0
Dejavu v2.0.0
- Ram usage optimized
- App size shrinked
- Full firefox sync support added
Dejavu 1.6.1
Your tabs, right where you left them — now with essentials that follow Zen's container setup.
Fixes
- Essentials per container turns itself on when it should — Zen doesn't sync whether it keeps essentials per container, so Dejavu now works it out from your synced essentials: when they are split between workspaces with different containers, Essentials per container turns on to match Zen, unless you already chose a setting yourself.
- No more missing essentials — workspaces without a default container now also show the essentials of containers no workspace uses, like Zen, so those essentials no longer disappear.
- Moving essentials and the essentials limit follow the same groups the home screen shows.
Builds
dejavu-1.6.1-arm64-v8a.apk is for 64-bit ARM devices, which covers almost every phone sold in the last decade. dejavu-1.6.1-universal.apk runs on every device but is twice the size. Both are signed with the Dejavu release key. You can also install Dejavu from the ByArchitect F-Droid repository, which keeps it up to date: https://dejavubrowser.byarchitect.org/#download

Dejavu 1.6.0
Your tabs, right where you left them — now with a tour of what Dejavu can do, folders that sleep with one tap, and popups in your workspace's colours.
What's new
- Discover Dejavu — a short tour shows Dejavu's features the first time you open it: nine animations, each with where to find it in Settings. Open it again any time from Settings → About → Discover Dejavu.
- Folders sleep with one tap — folders now have a Sleep button that puts every tab inside them to sleep.
- Close puts pinned tabs to sleep — closing can't take away a pinned tab or a folder, so their Close button now puts their tabs to sleep, and a sleeping pinned tab offers Unpin instead. Sleep is still a button of its own, which only puts tabs to sleep. Settings → Tab actions explains it under the buttons of pinned tabs and folders.
- Popups in your workspace's colours — dialogs and menus take on the colours of the workspace they open over, on the home screen, in the browser and in Settings.
- A golden first workspace — a fresh Dejavu starts with a workspace in the gold of its logo, and gold is now the first colour in the theme picker.
- Dejavu's own error pages — the page shown without an internet connection, and every other error page, now use Dejavu's own pictures instead of Firefox's.
Fixes
- Essentials and pinned tabs added in Zen now land in the same place in Dejavu, even when Zen sends the tab after its place in the list.
- Sleeping a folder no longer leaves Close buttons on the tabs inside it.
- The Firefox Suggest settings in Settings → Search name Firefox again, since those suggestions come from Firefox's service, not from Dejavu.
- New texts are translated into all 121 languages Dejavu has.

Dejavu 1.5.0
Your tabs, right where you left them — now lighter on memory and easier to shape to the way you work.
What's new
- Sleeping tabs — tabs you have not looked at for 20 minutes go to sleep and free their memory, and load again when you open them. Choose 10 minutes, 20 minutes, an hour or never in Settings → Sleeping tabs. The tab you are on, the tab next to it in split view and tabs playing sound or using the camera or microphone never sleep.
- One list for every action — choose where each tab action shows: on pinned tabs, unpinned tabs and folders, in the selection bar, in the More menu or in the actions bar. Actions you add yourself are in the same list.
- Your own actions bar — five buttons below pages, and you choose which.
- Folders stay open or closed the way you left them, and a closed folder shows how many of its tabs are open.
- Back closes the tab when there is no page left to go back to.
- Pinned tabs remember the page they were on when their tab was closed.
- History can be grouped by workspace and folder.
- Warnings for dangerous sites — phishing and malware pages are blocked with a warning, using Google Safe Browsing.
- A new look — Dejavu's own dialogs, menus, text fields and empty-screen pictures, system bars in the workspace's colours, a touch of golden yellow in the light and dark backgrounds, clearer open essentials and workspace icons in a circle.
- An Add container button in the workspace dialog.
Privacy
- Crash reports and telemetry can no longer be sent anywhere, and no experiments or remote changes are downloaded.
- No stories or sponsored stories are downloaded.
- Mozilla's own online services for Firefox — page summaries, Relay email masks and the VPN — are off.
- The privacy policy now explains what the dangerous site warnings send to Google.
Fixes
- A pinned tab given a new address on another device opens at that address, instead of the page it was last on.
- History grouped by workspace or folder no longer repeats a heading.
- A closed browser screen no longer stays in memory.
- About now lists every open source library Dejavu uses, and links to its source code.
- New texts are translated into all 121 languages Dejavu has.

Dejavu 1.0.0
The first release of Dejavu, a calm Android browser built on Firefox, with the tab organisation Zen Browser uses on the desktop.
What's in it
- Workspaces — separate sets of tabs for separate parts of your life, each with its own colour theme and icon
- Containers — keep sites signed in to different accounts apart, per workspace
- Pinned tabs and essentials — the pages you always want open, always in reach
- Folders — group tabs inside a workspace and collapse them out of the way
- Split view — two pages side by side
- A single bottom bar with every action, and an address field that stays out of the way at the top
Sync with Zen Browser
Sign in with your Mozilla account and Dejavu syncs workspaces, containers, pinned tabs, essentials and folders with Zen Browser on the desktop, alongside the usual bookmarks, history and passwords.
Privacy
Telemetry, studies, the daily usage ping and search suggestions are all off from the first launch. This release also stops the app asking Google Play services for an advertising identifier, which it had no permission to read in any case.
