GTA 5 Mobile Launcher
GTA MOBILE LAUNCHER BASE OFF OF Muguet (v0.1.1) — Android experimental
Unofficial Android port of the GTA V web engine. Sideload-only, built for
personal use on your own legally obtained game files.
This release contains no game code or game assets. You supply your own
files; see Requirements below.
Requirements
- Android 10 (API 29) or newer
- Vulkan 1.1 or newer — required, the app will not install without it
- arm64-v8a (most modern phones)
- Your own copy of the game, as a ZIP archive
Install
Download app-debug.apk, allow installs from your file manager or browser, and
open it. It is a debug-signed build.
On launch, tap Import game ZIP and pick your archive. Import extracts roughly
15 GB and takes several minutes. This is the only way to load game data — the
app has no network path for game files.
What's here
- Runs the engine. The game module is JIT-compiled to native ARM64 by
Cranelift at launch, then executed directly on the CPU. - Touch HUD. On-screen movement stick, camera drag, and action buttons, with
separate on-foot and in-vehicle layouts that switch automatically. - Performance settings. Shadows, reflections and LOD can be pinned for
phones; these are applied at every launch because the game overwrites them on
save. - Rendering is Vulkan via wgpu, with a software BC texture decode path for
GPUs without hardware BC support.
Performance
This is a first playable build and it is draw-call bound, not fill-rate bound.
Lowering render scale helps less than you would expect; lowering resolution does
not help at all once you are below native. On a Dimensity 8000 the default
settings run roughly 20 fps in the city.
Frame rate varies a lot with scene complexity.
Known issues
- Shadows and reflections are off by default (
phone_graphics). Turning them
on costs about a third of the frame rate. - The game resets LOD settings on every save; the app re-applies them at launch.
- A second engine (wasm2c, ahead-of-time compiled to native C) is under
development. It is not in this build and would still render nothing without a
Vulkan renderer.
