v18.5.0 - Account Cookie Management
🍪 Burner Account Cookie Management
Protect your personal YouTube account! This release adds a comprehensive cookie management system that helps you use dedicated browser profiles with burner accounts for downloading.
Why This Matters
YouTube may ban or restrict accounts used for downloading videos. Using a burner account in a separate browser profile protects your main account while still giving you authenticated access for reliable 4K downloads.
✨ New Features
Browser Profile Detection
- Automatically detects profiles for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari
- Select specific browser profiles instead of just browsers
- Visual warnings when using "Default" profiles (likely your personal account)
New Cookies Tab in Settings
- Dedicated first-tab placement for easy access
- Browser and profile dropdowns with auto-refresh
- "Test Cookies" button to verify authentication works
- "Open Browser Profile" for quick sign-in access
- Cookie status display with last test time
Burner Account Setup Guide
- Built-in step-by-step instructions
- Separate guides for Chrome/Edge, Firefox, and Safari
- Tips for temporary email services
⚡ Improvements
- Faster 4K downloads — format fallback now triggers after 1st failure instead of 3rd
- Firefox profile detection handles random directory prefixes (e.g.,

🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed update dialog buttons not displaying
- Fixed app icon showing wrong character
- Fixed various emoji encoding issues throughout UI
