Protected Media Streaming

  • Added authenticated byte-range streaming for TDENC2-protected video, audio, and PDF content, allowing supported files to play or preview while the vault is unlocked without publishing a persistent plaintext copy.
  • Added session-scoped media credentials that are revoked when the vault locks, plus independently authenticated chunk decryption that fails closed on truncated or modified ciphertext.
  • Carried the protected-stream credential through the desktop media player, PDF viewer, and Android native player while preserving local-only stream URLs and bounded range responses.

Video Uploads and Transfer Efficiency

  • Added a saved File/Media upload preference for MP4-family videos. File mode remains the compatibility-first default, while Media mode records duration, orientation-aware dimensions, MIME type, and Telegram streaming metadata for inline playback.
  • Preserved the video upload choice through durable desktop queues, remote uploads, Android shared-file intake, restart recovery, and encrypted settings synchronization.
  • Reduced Android shared-file staging work by using an atomic move when cache and app storage share a filesystem, with a safe copy fallback for devices that separate those locations.

Android Playback and Large-Library Performance

  • Extended native Android streaming to audio as well as video, improved MIME-based media detection, added download fallback for both media types, and refreshed playback history immediately after the native player closes.
  • Virtualized long mobile file lists while retaining selection, long-press actions, keyboard operation, dynamic row measurement, and a non-virtualized Android TV path.
  • Replaced frequent Android polling with native environment and playback events plus slower recovery watchdogs, and throttled foreground-transfer notification updates.
  • Added Baseline and Startup Profiles, localized native-player messages, release verification for profile packaging, and signed ABI-specific APK packaging alongside the universal artifacts.

Release Engineering and Compatibility

  • Expanded Android CI with protected behavior tests, Android 7.0 minimum-version instrumentation, current Android phone coverage, Google TV coverage, R8/JNI checks, 16 KB page-size verification, and ABI validation.
  • Existing Telegram sessions, supporter entitlements, recovery codes, settings, encrypted-file records, transfer queues, folder mappings, and synchronized preferences remain compatible with this update.
  • The v3.7.0 tag publishes signed Windows, Linux, macOS Intel, and macOS Apple Silicon desktop artifacts through the existing verified release pipeline.

Verification

  • All 125 frontend tests passed across 35 test files, along with the production frontend build and localization no-regression checks for all 24 language bundles.
  • All 142 Rust library tests passed; Rust formatting and Clippy with warnings denied also passed.
  • All 36 supporter-service tests, TypeScript validation, and the production Worker bundle dry-run passed.
