codex-rpc v1.1.0 - setup checker

Choose a tag to compare

@cabibbz cabibbz released this 23 Jul 13:28

Check my setup — a read-only diagnostic for the failure modes that are otherwise silent: Application ID and where it came from (env var, saved, or built-in default), whether Discord recognises the app, its name (the banner's title line), whether the codex art asset is really uploaded — a missing one quietly falls back to your app icon and looks fine — daemon and Discord state, whether the attached process is still alive and what state it is in, and whether clauderpc is competing for the activity slot. Each failure comes with the fix.

Start at login — a checkbox that manages a Startup-folder shortcut, no admin rights needed.

Also includes the app icon from v1.0.x. Unzip and keep codex-rpc.exe next to its _internal folder.

Windows build (PyInstaller onedir, windowed).

Install: unzip anywhere, keep codex-rpc.exe next to its _internal folder. Double-click the EXE, pick your Codex process (CLI or desktop app) in the picker, Attach & start. Application ID is editable in the UI (a default is baked in).

Includes: PID-attach presence with exe+creation-time identity (no PID-reuse), live window-title labels, Active/Idle CPU heuristic (0.5% default threshold, tunable), auto-reattach, second-Discord-client pipe preference for showing both banners.
