Twenty-five commits landed on main between 2026-08-07 and 2026-08-14 without a
release, so every user ran the 0.10.122 build while package.json in the repo
already said 0.10.122 too — a version check reported "current" for a server that
was seven days behind. This release closes that gap; no code change of its own.

Removed

  • Four dead MCP tools are gone (POL-033): the advertised tool count drops
from 126 to 122 and is now derived from src/tools.ts in CI, so the manifests
cannot drift from reality again. A handler guard fails loudly instead of
returning an empty result for an unroutable tool. (#306)

Added

  • export makes the portability promise true again (GROW-014). The README
said "leave anytime and take your data" while no command did that:
brain_export_md was removed with POL-033 and brain_share (a share link)
was wrongly listed as an export.
npx @cachly-dev/mcp-server export now writes lessons.md to read and
lessons.jsonl to reuse. With no key, or when the server returns nothing, it
says so in plain words instead of writing an empty file. (#360)
  • The README leads with the anchor from the landing page — "ChatGPT and
Claude remember your conversations. cachly remembers your codebase." — rather
    than the older amnesia framing.
  • session_end learns from the commit body, not just the subject (GROW-038).
The reasoning — what was measured, what the cause was — lives in the body; the
subject alone is a heading. In the same change the old
auto:changed:<area> writer was removed: one lesson per touched directory is
not knowledge, it is competition for knowledge.
  • Key fallback chain instead of silent failure (GROW-015): environment →
~/.cachly → legacy .mcp.json. A missing key used to end as an empty result
    with no message.
  • The first recall proof reaches the human (GROW-013) instead of being
discarded, and every path from the CLI to the website is countable
    (GROW-011).
  • CI outcome loop (GROW-022): brain_from_ci can be attached to any CI, not
    only the built-in one.
  • Locked tools run for real three times (trial instead of a sales notice), so
the value is visible before the paywall.

Changed

  • No plaintext key in project MCP configs (GROW-033). Existing keys are moved
to the home store on first run; the ambient hook scripts resolve the key at
    runtime (GROW-015).
  • Version and tool count come from generated truth (GROW-016, #325), and the
What's-New block shows current features again.
  • One truth for the AI-readable page (GROW-012) instead of two that had
    drifted apart.
  • The upgrade hint moved into the session briefing (GROW-002) instead of
appearing on every recall, and it no longer promises "without limits".
  • Six truth breaks repaired in the developer messaging (RES-017): source
storage, telemetry, the 99.9 % SLA claim, the German price table, the
    benchmark opponent, the tool numbers.

Fixed

  • Five CLI commands called a URL the server does not have. digest, demo,
share, init and setup all requested
    /api/v1/instances/{id}/brain/stats, while the server routes
/instances/:id/brain-stats — a slash where a hyphen belongs. Every one of
those calls was a 404 that ended in a catch, so the commands showed nothing
instead of saying anything. Two of them are the commands a new user runs
first. A test now reads every /api/v1/instances/… URL out of index.ts and
requires a matching route in routes.go, so a client string and a server
route cannot drift apart again (GROW-042).
  • The tool-count guard kept a hand-written list of old numbers and
therefore missed 126. The README carried it in two places — a badge URL and
See the CHANGELOG for full details.
