v0.6.0 — Cognitive Cache
🧬 Cognitive Cache — The world's first cache that thinks
Five capabilities no cache — or AI memory tool — has ever had:
New Tools
-
memory_consolidate— Distill the entire knowledge base: detect contradictions between stored beliefs, merge duplicate lessons into one canonical truth, prune memories that are 90+ days old and never recalled. Returns a knowledge health score 0–100. -
brain_diff— Git-style diff for AI knowledge. Shows exactly what was learned, updated, or went stale across N sessions — likegit log --statbut for your AI's brain. -
causal_trace— Root cause analysis through memory. Given a problem description, traces backwards through the knowledge graph to find what caused it, what was tried before, and what eventually worked. Fundamentally different fromrecall_best_solution: this asks "why did this break?" not "what fixed it?". -
knowledge_decay— Temporal confidence scoring for every memory. Each lesson decays by age (critical: 0.2%/day, minor: 1%/day) and recovers with each recall (+5%, capped at +25%). Shows a visual confidence bar so you know what to trust before critical tasks. -
autopilot— Zero-config AI memory. Generates aCLAUDE.md/.github/copilot-instructions.mdthat instructs any AI (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf) to manage its own brain automatically — session start, checkpoints, learning, and session end — without any manual tool calls. Ever.
Other Changes
- CI: npm publish now skips if version already exists on registry — prevents broken CI on every non-release push to main
- Registry:
server.jsonupdated to v0.6.0 with Cognitive Cache description - README: Complete rewrite positioning cachly as cognitive infrastructure, with real terminal output examples for all 5 new tools
- Package description: "The world's first Cognitive Cache — AI memory that thinks."
