v1.0.4 - Vsync + Performance improvements
Changelog:
- Vsync: no more screen tearing, the panel itself paces the game. It feels much smoother.
- Up to 60 FPS where the scene allows (it was held at 50).
- Faster renderer with the very same image: about 12-17% less drawing time; videos, menus and loading screens much lighter.
- More precise depth: surfaces almost touching each other no longer flicker.
Updating:
- Extract the zip to the root of the SD card (replace the files when asked) and keep your Tomb Raider 1 folder as it is. Your saves keep working.
v1.0.3 - Important Fixes
Changelog:
- The quick save (Menu + R1) and the passport's Save Game now use separate slots: the quick save is loaded only with Menu + L1, and the passport save only from the Load Game page. They no longer overwrite each other;
- Select now shows the help screen, rewritten with the Miyoo Mini Plus buttons. Start still opens the inventory;
- The Set Controls page and the menu hints now show the Miyoo Mini Plus buttons instead of the keyboard keys. Choosing a button that another action already uses swaps the two, and L2/R2 sidestep with whatever buttons Walk and Left/Right are set to;
- Enemies are as aggressive as in the original game again: on the Miyoo Mini Plus their random choices almost never came out (a wounded animal nearly always ran away instead of attacking), and the creatures that never give up a chase in the original (bears, lions, crocodiles, raptors, the T-Rex and others) could give up and wander off.
Updating:
- Extract the zip to the root of the SD card (replace the files when asked) and keep your Tomb Raider 1 folder as it is;
- Saves from v1.0.0 to v1.0.2 keep working: the old "Current Position" savegame becomes the passport save.
v1.0.2 - Fixed enemy behavior
Changelog:
- Fixed enemies getting stuck running in place near some edges (the bears in City of Vilcabamba): they are now kept away from walls the way the original game does it
Updating:
- Replace the OpenLara file in Roms/PORTS/Games/OpenLara/ with the one in the zip. Saves are kept.
v1.0.1 - Saving on menu + bug fixes
Changelog:
- Save the game from the passport, as in the PC game (the PlayStation save crystals are gone);
- Shadows under Lara and the enemies are now properly shown;
- Lara's Home narration now plays normally;
- Picking up items fixed: only the nearest one, from close by, with no more teleports (and keys stay in their keyholes);
- The picked-up item spinning in the corner is drawn correctly;
- Pushable blocks can only be grabbed from their own level (standing on top of one, Lara was pulled down to grab it).
Updating:
- Replace the OpenLara file in Roms/PORTS/Games/OpenLara/ with the one in the zip. Saves are kept.
v1.0.0 - Initial Release
First release of Tomb Raider (OpenLara) on the Miyoo Mini Plus / OnionOS.
- Rebuilt dual-core software renderer: precise, perspective-correct;
- 45-60 FPS, no overclock needed;
- One-step install from the GOG version: copy GAME.GOG and the music, and the game data is extracted on the first start.
See the README for installation and controls. You need your own copy of the game: the GOG Tomb Raider 1+2+3 pack.
Known issues:
- Lara gets teleported to pick up a nearby item on the ground instead of picking the one you were on. I'm currently working on a fix.
- Picked up items show rotating at the bottom right of the screen are not rendered properly yet. Will be fixed soon.
- Lara's voice is not playing in Lara's Home for now.
- OpenLara aims to replicate the PS1 version of the game, so saving was supposed to work by collecting Savegame Crystals. I'm working on bringing savegame screen to work like the PC version, but you have to use Quicksave/Quickload for now.
