Caedos 0.1.2
Caedos 0.1.2 · build df93efd0ec52
What changed. Once an hour Caedos deletes traces older than 30 days; now it deletes decided approvals (actions you allowed or rejected) and Relay signals older than 30 days by the same rule. Each synth keeps its newest 100 decided approvals and each Relay topic its newest 100 signals, however old, and an action still waiting for you is never deleted. A synth that reads a Relay topic with signal_subscribe now reads only that topic's signals, so a busy topic no longer slows the others. With CAEDOS_DATA_DIR set, an old .caedos/ folder where Caedos starts stays where it is, and caedos start and caedos doctor say so; only the default data folder takes one in.
Upgrading from 0.1.1, or going back. 0.1.2 leaves the database as 0.1.1 laid it out, so it upgrades nothing and saves no copy. To go back to 0.1.1, stop Caedos and start 0.1.1: it opens the same database.
Upgrading from 0.1.0. As with 0.1.1: the first time 0.1.2 opens your workspace, it saves a copy of the database in the snapshots folder beside it, then upgrades it; the start screen names the copy. Caedos 0.1.0 can't open the upgraded database. To go back to 0.1.0, stop Caedos, then run caedos restore <the copy's name> with 0.1.0. The copy stays until you delete it.

Not sure which? On Linux, run uname -m in a terminal: x86_64 means Intel or AMD, aarch64 means ARM. On a Mac, open the Apple menu › About This Mac: "Chip Apple M…" is Apple silicon, "Processor … Intel" is Intel. On Windows, open Settings › System › About and look at System type.
Run it. On Linux or a Mac, unpack the file, open a terminal in that folder and run ./caedos start (a double-click may show nothing). On Windows, double-click caedos.exe, or run .\caedos.exe start in a terminal. Caedos prints the control room's address: open it in your browser.
Each package holds the caedos program, its license and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.
macOS is beta. Apple hasn't notarized this build, so macOS blocks it if a browser downloaded it. Download it with curl instead (curl -fLO <link>); macOS doesn't flag what curl fetches.
Windows is beta. This build isn't code-signed yet. Where Smart App Control is on, Windows blocks it with no way past, and a browser download shows a SmartScreen warning.

Caedos 0.1.1 · build 6931ef4d0c72
Upgrading from 0.1.0. The first time 0.1.1 opens your workspace, it saves a copy of the database in the snapshots folder beside it, then upgrades it; the start screen names the copy. What each synth read is now kept up to 64 KB a source, so a database 0.1.0 filled can get much smaller. Caedos 0.1.0 can't open the upgraded database. To go back to 0.1.0, stop Caedos, then run caedos restore <the copy's name> with 0.1.0. The copy stays until you delete it.
