Thanks for making Caelestia. It's awesome! I think Caelestia would look even more gorgeous with a blur effect with the transparency.

How will it help?

It would increase the aesthetics

Hyprland adds a blur effect to other transparent windows, but currently not to Caelestia. If I understand things correctly, the compositor is what adds the blur effect. So I'm curious why Caelestia doesn't get a blur effect like the other windows do if you enable its transparency.

To clarify, when I say "blur" I mean this sort of thing:

The shell already supports Transparency
You can enable it in the config file

Copy the example config from the README, paste it into:

~/.config/caelestia/shell.json

Then in the appearance settings, enable transparency

Correct, but I'm referring to a blur effect. As you can see in the example image above the window isn't just transparent, it has a blur effect which makes it look kinda like frosted glass 🙂

Add this in ~/.config/hypr/hyprland/rules.conf (or wherever you put hyprland rules)
