Release list
PeriGauge 0.1.0-alpha.3
Dispositivos desconectados ficam ocultos por padrão no painel, popup e card da área de trabalho. A última leitura continua disponível para reconexão e pela opção Show devices that are out of range.
Validado: 60 testes, fmt/clippy, scripts, artefato e instalação simulada. Versões anteriores permanecem disponíveis para retorno.
PeriGauge 0.1.0-alpha.2
Per-device battery meters
- Always-visible batteries on the KDE Plasma desktop and panel, including separate left bud, right bud and case readings.
- Switch between circular gauges and bars through the widget menu, settings or the new button beside Refresh in the popup.
- Each widget saves its own style; the panel and its popup share the same choice.
- Dedicated device icons and clear unknown, estimated, stale and out-of-range states. When enabled, cached out-of-range devices keep the tray applet visible.
Battery readings verified on hardware: Keychron M6 through Ultra-Link 8K and Galaxy Buds3 Pro over Bluetooth (left, right and case). Logitech HID++ remains fixture-tested; hardware validation is pending. The core battery protocols and notification thresholds are unchanged in this release.
Download
Linux x86_64, glibc 2.39+, systemd and D-Bus; KDE Plasma 6 for the widget. Tested on Ubuntu 26.04 / Plasma 6.6.
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS
tar xf perigauge-0.1.0-alpha.2-x86_64-linux.tar.gz
cd perigauge-0.1.0-alpha.2
./install.sh --dry-run
./install.sh --enable-serviceHID permissions require the separately documented udev step. This remains a pre-release. The previous alpha stays available.
Validated: 60 Rust tests, format/Clippy, QML style switching and reading states, installer scripts, package contents, version and checksum.
PeriGauge 0.1.0-alpha.1
First public PeriGauge pre-alpha release, replacing the Python perif-battery helper.
Battery levels for wireless peripherals in the Linux desktop, with a Rust CLI, user daemon, KDE Plasma 6 widget, and local desktop notifications. Solaar is no longer a runtime dependency.
- Keychron Ultra-Link 8K battery reader, verified on a Keychron M6.
- Logitech HID++ 2.0 reader for receivers and Bluetooth; fixture-tested, hardware validation pending.
- Samsung Galaxy Buds SPP reader for left/right/case batteries and charging state; fixture-tested, hardware validation pending.
- UPower fallback, stale/offline reading markers, and a versioned JSON interface.
- Notifications at 20%, 10%, 5%, and when fully charged, with hysteresis and persistent notification memory.
- KDE Plasma 6 panel and desktop widget; PT/EN landing page.
Requirements: Linux x86_64, glibc 2.39 or newer, libgcc_s.so.1, D-Bus and systemd. KDE Plasma 6 is needed for the widget. The supplied binary is prebuilt; installing the tarball does not require Rust. Building from source uses the Rust toolchain and Cargo.lock.
Download the tarball and SHA256SUMS into the same directory, then:
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS
tar xf perigauge-0.1.0-alpha.1-x86_64-linux.tar.gz
cd perigauge-0.1.0-alpha.1
./install.sh --dry-run
./install.sh --enable-service
perigauge doctorThe installer writes to user directories. HID access requires a separate udev rule installation; read SECURITY.md before installing the rule. The installer never runs sudo or edits the desktop panels.
Validation: 60 Rust tests passed, cargo clippy and cargo fmt were clean, Bash syntax/ShellCheck and udevadm verify passed, and the tarball checksum and extracted installer dry-run passed.
Known limitations: only the Keychron M6 path has been validated on physical hardware. Logitech MX Keys, MX Master 3S, and Galaxy Buds3 Pro hardware validation remains pending. The widget still needs validation in real panel and desktop use. If a Logitech device is first detected by UPower and later by HID++, its notification memory and per-device overrides restart under the new ID. GNOME extension and GitHub Actions CI are not included in this release.
