Say It 0.1.3
Say It 0.1.3
The first public release of Say It: private, local text-to-speech for Apple silicon Macs.
Highlights
- Speak selected text from almost any app with a configurable keyboard shortcut.
- Read clipboard content without passive clipboard monitoring.
- Use a native menu-bar player with pause, seek, playback speed, synchronized text, and history.
- Download and run open TTS models locally, including Qwen3 TTS, Kokoro, Chatterbox, and OmniVoice.
- Create reusable voices through voice descriptions, discovery, and voice cloning when supported by the selected model.
- Control Say It through the bundled command-line tool or optional local HTTP API.
- Recover smoothly when macOS Accessibility permission is denied or changed.
Private by design
Speech synthesis runs locally on your Mac. Say It has no cloud inference or analytics, and your text, generated audio, recordings, and voice profiles remain on your device.
An internet connection is required to download models initially. Installed models can then be used offline.
