New EVM chains get a named command with no CLI release. A chain id without a
curated row takes its name from the OpenAPI x-enum-varnames extension on chain_id. If the OpenAPI has no name and an API key is set, the name comes
from /evm/chains. The CLI caches that name and asks again at most once per
15 minutes; cambrian schema refresh base asks at once. Example: cambrian monad tokens. chain-<id> stays a valid alias everywhere,
including cambrian pay. A name that is a built-in command, a curated token,
or unsafe stays chain-<id>.
cambrian schema chains rows now include alias (chain-<id>).
Endpoint help ends with the other chains that serve the same endpoint, for
example Other chains: replace "base" with ethereum, arbitrum, or robinhood.
The list comes from the endpoint's live chain_id enum.
Changed
Chain groups (base, ethereum, arbitrum, robinhood, chain-<id>) no
longer show --chain-id in help, completion, or OpenCLI. The group already
selects the chain. The matching value is still accepted.
A conflicting --chain-id now names the command to use. Before: --chain-id must be at least 8453. Now: --chain-id 1 does not match "base" (chain 8453). ... Use: cambrian ethereum tvl-top-owners.
chain-<id> for a curated or named chain now shows that chain's name in help
and errors (chain-4663 → robinhood).
The schema cache moves to schema-v7/, so an older CLI on the same machine
cannot overwrite it with specs that drop the chain names. The first run after
the upgrade fetches the schema once.
Docs fallback (cambrian docs <chain> <resource>) lists the pinned chain_id as "Set by the command group" instead of as a flag.
npm run check:chains prints the command each new chain gets and exits 0,
because no chain needs a curated row to work. Use --strict to fail on
chains without a row.
