That keeps it consistent with the existing agent/skill/command triad without inventing a new runtime.

pi-dynamic-workflows is not just a packaged subagent prompt; it adds a new runtime primitive: a workflow tool where the model emits a sandboxed JavaScript workflow, then that workflow can call agent(), parallel(), pipeline(), phase(), structured-output schemas, and cancellation-aware fanout. That is a clearer target than generic "dynamic workflows".

For omp, I think there are two viable paths for maintainers to evaluate:

1. Plugin compatibility / integration path — make sure an omp plugin can register the equivalent workflow tool and lifecycle hooks. This keeps the experimental surface outside core and may be the lowest-risk path if the Pi plugin can be adapted.
2. Core workflow primitive — implement a first-party workflow tool in packages/coding-agent, backed by omp's existing task/subagent runtime. This would need design review around sandboxing, allowed globals, structured output, abort propagation, progress rendering, and whether workflow scripts are ephemeral model-generated code or discoverable files under something like .omp/workflows/.

I would not recommend directly vendoring the plugin as-is without that review: its README explicitly describes it as a prototype, and bringing it into omp core would make its sandbox/API/error behavior part of omp's compatibility contract.

A good acceptance shape for this issue would be: "support a Claude-Code-style workflow tool for model-authored fanout workflows, equivalent in capability to pi-dynamic-workflows, either via plugin support or first-party implementation." I realize that omp is already a fully-featured package with its own subagent system. That being said, 'Dynamic Workflows' is a new paradigm recently introduced in Claude Code, and I'd love for the maintainers to assess whether bringing this capability to omp would be a valuable upgrade for its roadmap.
For reference, there is already a Pi plugin that implements this: https://github.com/Michaelliv/pi-dynamic-workflows. If the team is interested, the path of least resistance might simply be to integrate this existing plugin into omp

Implemented in PR #1559 — a first-party workflow tool in packages/coding-agent backed by omp's existing subagent runtime. Key design choices:

• Sandboxed JS scripts via node:vm + AST validation (determinism check, no Date.now/Math.random)
• Lightweight subagents via createAgentSession with Settings.isolated() / SessionManager.inMemory()
• Structured output via a zod-backed custom tool that captures validated output
• TUI rendering via Text from @oh-my-pi/pi-tui with live streaming updates
• Tool placement: discoverable (not essential), gated by workflow.enabled (default true)

The CHANGELOG conflict with main's [15.7.0] release has been resolved and the branch rebased. Ready for review.
