What changed

Adds compatibility for the existing external-snippet corpus: inclusive line ranges, legacy indentation modes, optional trimming/replacement, bare fences, and immutable-source caching.

Why

Legacy pages must render the same content while moving from manifest imports to complete, commit-pinned inline references.

Validation

Focused inline tests, Ruff, mypy, generated-output checks, and Mintlify validation pass in the completed stack.

This is a draft layer in native stack #1263 and is based on the preceding CI-gates PR.
