Release overview

OpenCodex Windows Desktop v2.8.0 is built on the runtime / provider proxy capabilities of opencodex 2.8.0. It preserves the upstream core functionality while adding an integrated desktop installation experience for Windows users.

Key features

• Windows installer wizard: Deploy through a standard setup flow.
• Shortcut integration: Desktop and Start Menu entries are created for daily use.
• Bundled runtime resources: Required runtime resources are included with the installer to reduce manual setup.
• Local proxy route recovery: Reduces the chance that Codex remains pointed at a dead localhost route after the proxy stops or exits unexpectedly.
• Installer only: No portable build is published in this Release.
