Patch in the browser with RomPatcher.js, or give the .ips the ROM's own name and keep them side by side — mGBA patches on load.
Prefer a double-clickable app? The MedarotNavi-Patcher downloads point at your own dump and write the translated ROM next to it. Windows: run the .exe (SmartScreen: 'More info' > 'Run anyway'). macOS: unzip, right-click the app > Open the first time (it is not notarized). The macOS app is universal — Intel and Apple Silicon alike. The app carries this repository's code and translations, never the game.
Your save
Saved on the bus at the Cluster, before talking to the class president? That save loads as it is with this patch, and the story now carries on the way it should. The bus scene's script did not move.
Any other save from v2026.09.01 needs repair. This build had to move scripts again: 104 of the 170 scenes now sit at a different address, and the save stores an absolute pointer to the scene you are in. Loading and re-saving does not fix it. If you are mid-game, say so and the save can be repaired.
If the game already threw you onto the station view and you saved after that, the save carries the skipped part of the story with it. Go back to an earlier save if you have one.
What this fixes
Talking to the class president on the bus skipped the story (#3). About 15 minutes in, the class gets off the bus at the Cluster and the president asks for a word. On the patched game you were then dropped onto the station view, the map where you pick dome modules, with the next part of the story skipped. You could even walk into domes, such as the Forest, that should still have been locked. The cause was the patch, not the player. A tool that finds dialogue by reading the script's code as raw bytes had mistaken two bytes of game logic for a pointer to a line of text, and the build "repointed" them, which broke the list of instructions that runs right after that talk. Checked in an emulator: the scene now goes on outside the bus and into the warehouse, as in the original.
Every byte the build writes was then audited, on both cartridges and both languages, and four more problems of the same kind came up:
- Three scenes were cut short after their first box. These are the asteroid alarm at the Cluster ("Emergency!", which lost the eleven boxes that send you to the Pyramid Block), the scene where your Medabot is sent to haul something out of the water (thirteen boxes), and Navi's last lines in the Lobby scene. All three are translated in full now.
- Kabuto: five menu labels drew garbled text. These are "Can be placed here / Can't be placed here / Already placed here", "Trade parts" and "Give a Medal".
- A compressed tileset of one Cluster room was damaged. On Kuwagata it is the Suburbs room; on Kabuto, the room before the Lobby. A handful of stray four-byte writes also landed in sound data.
- English patches: the start of a script that most scenes share was overwritten. That script's header is restored.
A new test now builds every patch for both cartridges and checks the bytes themselves. Script code may only change where a line of text is pointed at. Every rewritten pointer must really be one. Every translation must be intact where the game reads it.

Your save keeps working — no repair needed
Coming from v2026.10.03-f8ef263? Just apply the new patch and carry on. Nothing was relocated: the master script table is byte for byte the same as in the previous release, so your save loads as it is.
Coming from v2026.09.01 or older? The notes of v2026.10.03-f8ef263 apply. A save made on the bus at the Cluster loads as it is; other saves need repair; just say so if you are mid-game.
What this fixes
One line that still drew as garbage. The bully who says "Get lost!" and "What?! Nobita, you've got some nerve!" has a fourth line, a joke about your save data being destroyed. A stray byte in front of it kept the translation tools from ever finding it, so it was the only one of his lines left in Japanese, and the patched font draws Japanese as garbled Latin. It is translated now in both languages. Don't worry: the line is a joke, and nothing happens to your save.
The patch now reports zero untranslated text, and the count can be trusted. The build checks itself for Japanese left behind, and that check had grown to 203 warnings nobody read. 202 of them turned out to be graphics, code, sound and unused layout templates that only looked like text, and the joke above was the one real line. The check now ignores what nothing in the game can reach, every remaining case was checked by hand, and both cartridges report zero. The next real leftover will stand out instead of drowning in noise.

Your save keeps working — no repair needed
Coming from v2026.08.29? Just apply the new patch and carry on. Nothing was relocated: the master script table is byte-for-byte identical to the previous release, and the only 470 bytes that differ from it are inside the part tables. Your existing save loads as it is.
(Coming from v2026.08.18 or older? That jump does still need the usual save repair, because v2026.08.29 moved the scripts.)
What this fixes
Part records had their data corrupted — 125 of 608. A player noticed a few parts listed with the wrong gender, and the cause was not the text but the bytes after it. A part record is eight bytes of model code, eight of name, and then the part's own stats. The build was told some names had 9 to 12 bytes of room when they have 8, and it pads with zeroes up to whatever room it is told — so a long name wrote over the stats and, less obviously, a short one zeroed them.
The gender was simply the stat you could see. The others were silent and could affect a part's behaviour without anyone noticing.
106 part names are now abbreviated to fit the eight bytes they really have, the build refuses anything longer instead of trimming into the data, and a test rebuilds the ROM and compares all 608 records against the original. The rest of the ROM was audited for the same mistake — with each detection method first checked against a deliberately broken build, so a clean result means something — and no other case was found.

This release fixes dialogue that reached players as garbage. A player two hours into the English patch hit a box of Latin soup: it was Japanese the extractor had never found. The opcode walk missed 438 lines that sat behind branches it never reached — most of the RR confrontation and the whole finale — and with the font spending the kana range on Latin, every one of them drew as noise instead of Japanese. 326 lines are recovered and translated in both packs, in both cartridges.
Your save from an older patch will not work with this one. The save stores an absolute pointer to the scene you are in and this build moves the scripts. Loading and re-saving does not fix it. If you are mid-game, say so and the save can be repaired.
