question about diff preview

I have tried opencode, copilot and codex. Diff preview haven't been triggered once, am I missing sth? Or just they all don't support diff preview?

I'm assuming you're mentioning the rich diff preview when editing a file?

If that's what you're missing, it ONLY appears when your agent requests permissions.
If the agent is on "auto" mode, there's no way of showing it to you.

You'll still see a trimmed version of the diff on the sidebar.

When I use copilot acp, it will request permissions when editing files, but no rich diff view will show. Is this copilot's problem?

Yes, Copilot is half-backed. There are 2 problems:

• copilot --acp responses return incorrect tool IDs when requesting permissions github/copilot-cli#989
• copilot --acp doesn't send modes like plan mode, accept edits during initialisation github/copilot-cli#1218

Copilot team has to fix it!

I have a similar problem with mistral vibe. No matter what I do, I never get to see the diff view, even when it's requesting permission.

For Mistral Vibe, it seems an issue on their side, I just tested right now and they are sending the wrong data :

kind must be edit
type must be diff, not content!

Don't know if you saw it, but we got a reply on the issue.

Yeah, I just saw it.

The problem is that there was support for FS in the past, and it was removed.
Claude ACP stopped supporting it, and Agentic stopped working out of the sudden.

Since the FS removal, all other providers are still working as expected.

FS support is optional, in the ACP definition, from the client side, in this case, Agentic.nvim, and the provider must keep working even if the client doesn't support it.

Using their same words, I do not plan to reintroduce FS as a feature, as it's not necessary for the majority of the providers.

From my point of view, they need to make their implementation work regardless of the client's capabilities, as described by the ACP definition.
