cartcut v0.5.11

This release rebuilds the option panel on a shared section system, adds a tutorial and onboarding flow, ships the cartcut-mcp stdio bridge for the MCP Registry, and brings a long list of asset browser and timeline improvements.

Option panel design system (#62)

The option panel is now built from one consistent set of sections rather than ad hoc layouts.

  • Option panel components and styles refactored onto the shared system.
  • Transform and Parent moved onto the section frame.
  • Clip controls, the text panel, and the effect and transition panels (including the fx params) all converted into sections.
  • Reveal, presets, template and the background remover converted as well.
  • Spacing updated across the options for consistent layout.
  • Preset selection handling in the dropdowns updated.

AI and MCP

  • cartcut-mcp stdio bridge added for the MCP Registry.
  • AI integration extended with Codex support and configuration snippets.
  • Skill resource handling and commands added for cartcut-editing.
  • Animated tab switching for the AI panel height.

Tutorial and onboarding

  • Tutorial session management with its UI components.
  • Reset onboarding added, with tests.

Assets

  • Asset sorting implemented with tests and UI components.
  • List mode layout and styling reworked.
  • Asset display layout and styling improved.
  • Hover preview now shows the full filename.

Recording

  • Zoom keyframe handling for recording clips.
  • Countdown with a visual indicator before recording starts.

Timeline

  • Clip color management, with tests.
  • Ruler drawing logic refactored, with tests for ruler rendering.
  • Track visibility toggle.
  • Track header styling reworked and button accessibility improved.
  • z-index of the split column bar adjusted so it layers correctly.

Media

  • New mediaInfo and mediaInfoProbe modules, with tests.
  • New through420 function for RGBA frame conversion.

UI

  • LUT and Template browsers reworked for a consistent look.
  • Preview top bar given new tab labels and revised styling.
  • Sticky browse bar with a fade effect for easier navigation, with the fade handling empty states correctly and its colors adjusted for consistency.
  • Vertical scrollbar fade effect with growth detection.
  • Play button behavior and styling improved.
  • Sidebar scrollbar behavior adjusted so the icons stay aligned.
  • Navigation buttons given color transitions.
  • Menu dropdown placement now resolved in a microtask, so it measures accurately.
  • Retina support with a new tray icon.

Docs

  • README and plugin documentation updated for the skills CLI integration.
