Numo v1.8
This release expands Numo beyond sat-denominated ecash, introduces encrypted wallet recovery through
Android, and refreshes the fiat currency selector.
Highlights
-
Custom-unit ecash support
Numo can now use units other than sat when supported by the selected mint. Choose the base unit from the
mint settings and use it throughout payment requests, received payments, tips, catalog pricing,
receipts, transaction history, insights, and CSV exports. Fiat conversion controls are disabled for
custom units, while recognized fiat-denominated units use their normal currency formatting. Numo also
avoids selecting Lightning mints that do not support the active unit. -
Encrypted Android recovery backup
You can now opt in to backing up wallet recovery data to your Google account. Numo encrypts the wallet
seed phrase and configured mint list using a separate recovery password of at least 12 characters. The
encrypted backup is refreshed when the wallet’s recovery data changes and can be unlocked from the
wallet restoration flow on a new device. Android cloud backup and a device screen lock must be enabled,
and Numo cannot recover a forgotten recovery password. -
Refined fiat currency selector
Currency rows now include circular flag avatars for quicker visual identification. Currencies without a
suitable country flag use a code-based fallback. The pinned “Preferred Currency” header has also been
removed, leaving more room for the searchable currency list.
