Numo v1.9 Release Notes

Numo brings a refreshed interface, easier mint discovery, and better ways to transfer Cashu tokens.

  • A fresh look throughout Numo. Material 3 styling and consistent icons
bring a more unified experience in light and dark mode. Settings now
includes search, clearer groups, and current-value summaries, with
redesigned detail screens that better accommodate large text and tablets.
    (#370, #376)
  • Discover Cashu mints through Nostr. Find and add mints directly from
the app, with searchable results, mint profiles, community recommendations,
    and ratings. (#367)
  • Animated QR codes for large Cashu tokens. Withdrawal tokens that
exceed a single QR code’s capacity now display as animated QR codes for
scanning with compatible wallets. Choose between three animation speeds, or
tap the QR code to expand it to full screen. (#375)
  • A new welcome experience for merchants. An animated introduction
showcases product checkout, tap-to-pay, automatic withdrawals, and sales
insights before taking new users into wallet setup. (#378)
  • Numo now speaks German. German joins the available app languages, thanks to @Delgado74. (#340)

Several everyday frustrations are fixed: malformed Lightning addresses no longer crash auto-withdraw settings, and affected users can reopen the screen to correct them; cancelling an NFC payment animation preserves the payment screen’s sizing; and Developer Mode error logs now work in release builds, with live updates and shorter, readable stack traces. (#381, #369, #379)

The default mint list adds Macadamia and Antifiat and removes Coinos and Chorus. Under the hood, Numo now targets Android 16 and uses CDK Android 0.18.0-rc.0. (#364, #366, #365, #371)

Thanks to @swedishfrenchpress, @Delgado74, and first-time contributor @ye0man, who added the project’s security reporting policy.
