v0.5.91

Overview

Knowledge loading recovers the resident daemon before starting local fallback work and avoids recursive source enumeration when a complete, alias-free persisted snapshot can be validated through its recorded paths. Large source scans yield between batches so daemon lifecycle requests can make progress.

Full Changelog: v0.5.90...v0.5.91

Highlights

  • Start daemon recovery before typed and untyped local load fallback; a caller timeout no longer prevents the recovery attempt from starting.
  • Reuse recorded source paths for complete, alias-free cache snapshots, preserving file, directory, optional-source, and publication freshness checks.
  • Keep full source resolution for legacy snapshots and snapshots with aliases, including chained links. Only publishers migrate obsolete snapshot metadata; readers remain zero-write.
  • Yield after each 64 scanned paths to reduce event-loop starvation during large history scans.

Bug Fixes and Tests

  • 68b61fa9 fix(knowledge): optimize cold cache validation and move daemon recovery ahead of local fallback work.
  • The same commit adds coverage for absent project/team/global spec scopes, file edits/additions/removals, allowed and fenced junction transitions, chained links on cold and warm readers, legacy validation, publisher-owned migration, and scan yielding.

Compatibility Notes

  • CLI arguments, repository applicability, path fencing, daemon authentication, and load-consumption attribution remain unchanged.
  • Persisted search-cache formats v7/v8/v9 remain readable. Complete source snapshots carry an additional version marker; obsolete metadata is upgraded by a publisher.
  • Linked sources, first-time migration, and real source changes may still require a slower full validation or rebuild. This release does not promise a fixed end-to-end latency for every cold load.
  • Dependency-upgrade work left in the development checkout is not included in this release.
