This release introduces Ground Station 1.3.0 and Telemetry 1.2.0. Vega firmware remains unchanged at 3.0.2 but is included so this release provides the complete current firmware set.

Ground Station 1.3.0

  • Added firmware updates for both internal telemetry receivers directly from the Ground Station.
  • Added a comprehensive factory self-test covering sensors, battery, storage, radio receivers, buttons, display, and USB access.
  • Added detailed Ground Station and receiver firmware-version information.
  • Improved Live and Recovery guidance with compass and bearing information, downrange data, clearer coordinates, and GNSS location QR codes.
  • Improved recording recovery, log management, and automatic USB-drive sharing.
  • Added an optional startup animation and improved display performance and button responsiveness.
  • Added support for the QMC5883P magnetometer and improved battery reporting.

Telemetry 1.2.0

  • Added controlled entry into the STM32 system bootloader, enabling the Ground Station to update its internal receiver firmware.
  • Added acknowledgement and version verification for the receiver-update process.
  • Improved startup after returning from the STM32 bootloader.
  • Remains compatible with Vega flight-computer firmware 3.0.2.

Important telemetry update information

The Ground Station updater programs only the two receiver MCUs inside the Ground Station. It does not update the separate telemetry MCU inside the Vega.

Receiver firmware predating the new bootloader-entry command requires a one-time installation using an ST-Link programmer. After Telemetry 1.2.0 has been installed, subsequent receiver updates can be performed through:

Settings → System → Update Firmware → Radio Receivers

Keep the Ground Station connected to a stable power source throughout the update. Do not disconnect power until both receivers report a successfully verified firmware version.
