Changes

  • Regular and Mercury icons now use the approved Blender forms: pearlescent enamel with a polished black stroke and glass orbit, and a liquid-silver ribbon with a signal-colored light seam. Curved backs replace straight extrusion walls. All six bundled font faces and arbitrary Space colors remain settings-driven, with sharp 1024px exports and compact cached Dock assets.
  • Restored tabs no longer play a cascade of page-ready sounds at startup. Initial restoration stays quiet across redirects, split panes and other windows; new tabs, later navigation and reloads keep their normal cues.
  • The header puts assistant, note and settings actions within reach, including narrow windows. The assistant uses the current tab's shell; a new note preserves an occupied split and opens separately when needed.
  • Settings opens as a window view above the current work. The gear, Escape and the close shortcut return to the same tabs and input; settings search, scrolling, zoom and accessibility follow that view.
  • Window choices stay readable and clickable beside a compact sidebar. Theme swatches remain centered in their footer cell, including the fanned hover state.
  • Updates shows a quiet status summary with the running version, actual check result or activity, and last-check time. A failed attempt never claims the app is current. Profile, recovery, support and privacy details expand in place and remain searchable; restart review keeps its interruption warning.
  • First-open, restored, cascaded and dragged-tab windows fit inside the usable desktop. macOS accounts for the Dock and Windows for the taskbar; valid saved frames keep their position and size. Linux uses monitor bounds, with positioning left to Wayland where required.

Changes

  • Kept brings bookmarks, reading, saved copies, keywords, pinned pages and collections into one record. Kept items lead address and palette results; said:<word> searches saved copies.
  • Tab rows show where each tab is and whether it is running, listening, waiting, finished, playing or edited. Orrery and tab dragging make the workspace easier to arrange.
  • Find works across pages, shells and editors, with whole words, patterns and a wider search when the current pane has no answer.
  • nus version, update, doctor, uninstall, channel, logs and the sync commands expose installation and encrypted-profile management from the shell.
  • Linux and Windows close and quit correctly without stray console windows. Linux's dock and tray use the launch animation; animation frames follow the display's pace.
  • Invalid keyword input keeps the previous keyword and leaves the editor open for correction. Unicode keywords obey the same size limit as stored records; clearing the field still removes a keyword deliberately.
  • A local “Here” profile continues across updates, reinstalls and moved copies without sync. Legacy-profile migration stops if the profile is busy or cannot be moved, preserving it instead of creating a duplicate.
  • nus uninstall --everything removes the channel's profiles, recovery copies, vault keys and logs. Windows' Remove them too option does the same; normal uninstall keeps the profile for reinstall. Other channels, projects and remote sync folders are preserved.
  • Completed updates remove their temporary download and staging folders. Complete uninstall also removes retained app packages owned by that installation, while preserving unrelated neighboring folders.
  • Linux complete uninstall purges apt configuration and removes an account installation's owned sandbox rule. The shared GNOME dock extension and marker are removed once no other installed channel needs them.
  • Windows legacy-profile migration keeps the open lock file in place, moves the live profile last, and rolls back earlier moves if migration fails.
  • Windows CLI installation detection compares canonical paths on both sides, restoring correct update and uninstall behavior. A staged Windows diagnostic verified the fix against a native-created profile and OS vault credentials.
  • Package instructions point to the shared channel profile. A rejected download-site dispatch now fails visibly in Actions.

Changes

  • Linux: nus no longer freezes. Frames were presented with vsync, and on Wayland that blocks the thread that also handles input and the close button while the compositor holds the window's buffers; Linux now presents without blocking.
  • Linux: nus cannot starve the machine. The launcher runs nus and every Chromium process it starts in a systemd scope of their own: memory above 30% of RAM is reclaimed from nus first, 50% is a hard ceiling, and nus takes half a normal CPU share under contention. If the machine runs out of memory anyway, nus is first to go.
  • Linux: a menu entry left by an older or deleted copy no longer keeps the menu from opening the installed nus.
  • Buttons on the theme's signal colour are labelled in whatever reads on it: LET'S BEGIN on the first-run card was white on white in Blueprint.
  • The install command shows the nus wordmark settling into place, then each step (found, download, verify, install) with its time, a live download bar, and the package manager's output in a small window that folds away. Run again, it updates, or says nus is up to date.

Changes

  • The address is edited where it is: ⌘L / Ctrl+L or a click selects it in the page's header, with suggestions under it (reload, search, history, open ports). Tab selects one part of the address (a docs version, a port, a query parameter) and offers its alternatives. ⌘K stays the palette.
  • nus is the command on every platform. On its own it opens nus or brings it forward; nus <file|url> opens that, starting nus when needed; the remote-control commands now find a running nus from any terminal.
  • Linux installs like a Linux app: a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu (desktop entry, icons, Chromium sandbox set up through AppArmor, updates through apt once the repository is enabled), and an archive whose install-desktop.sh installs for one account. Install with curl -fsSL https://cbassuarez.com/nus.dev/install.sh | NUS_CHANNEL=preview sh.
  • Linux: the launcher icon opens nus (it quit at once), the sandbox check now notices Ubuntu's AppArmor restriction, shells no longer inherit the bundle's library path, and the Chromium library ships stripped (about 1.2 GB smaller unpacked).
  • Back and forward (button, Alt+arrows, the swipe) show the page they go to; before, the previous page stayed on screen until a reload.
  • Ctrl+T opens a new tab on Windows and Linux wherever it is not a shell's; Ctrl+Shift+T still works everywhere.
  • Favicons that would vanish into the theme (a black logo on a dark sidebar) are drawn on a small plate.
  • Error pages show the request's route, animated, at their head.

Changes

  • A new Windows installer. One page instead of four: where nus installs (just for you, no admin, no restart) and what it adds to Windows: the nus command on PATH (on), nus listed as a browser in Default apps (off) and a desktop shortcut (off). Updates show the same page with your last choices on one line; untick one and it is taken back out. If nus is open, Setup asks once and closes it. Uninstall asks whether to keep your settings.
  • Assistants in the sidebar (the Ledger). A tab running Claude, Codex or another assistant shows what it is doing under its title: working with its elapsed time and current tool, waiting with the question it is asking, or done with the files it changed. Claude's permission prompts can be answered from the sidebar (Allow, Deny, Always); the answer is the keystroke the assistant's own prompt takes, so the terminal and the sidebar stay in step. The top strip counts waiting and working assistants.
  • nus hook. Assistants report through their own hook systems: nus hook install claude|codex adds nus's hooks beside the user's (a backup is kept; uninstall removes only nus's). Settings · Assistants · Connections offers the command for review. Programs that send desktop notifications (OSC 9, OSC 777) are shown as waiting with their words.
  • One profile per channel. Rebuilt, redownloaded and moved copies share installs/<channel>/shared instead of starting over. The most recently used profile moves in on first launch when no nus holds it. A copy can keep its own profile (Settings · Updates · Profile). Welcome shows once per version.
  • Home. Clicking a row opens that row (rows naming other tabs were missing while the frame drew, so clicks landed one row early). The nus wordmark is a latched button: press for home, press again or go back to return. The home line and the palette follow CURSOR's shape, color, blink and weight.
  • Stopping processes. The ports board's stop button opens the row so its confirmation is visible; before, a stop that needed confirming did nothing.
  • Back and forward. The swipe overlay has styles (arrow, arrow and words, edge band, none) and distances, shows where a swipe goes or that it goes nowhere, and one swipe no longer fires twice.
  • Panes and windows. Layout changes go through one director with undo and redo; pane mode (Ctrl+Alt+P) and drop zones move and swap panes; tabs move between windows with their shells and pages intact.
  • Shell colors from the theme's signal family, in OKLCH, by random choice or by folder.
  • Finish Work. The coffee in the header keeps the machine awake until work you started finishes, then gives power management back.
  • Interstitials. Error, warning and interruption pages read as a shell transcript, with the safe command as the default.
  • Intelligence. One level, Instant to Max, for assistant launches, shown as an atom in Settings · Assistants.

Changes

  • Optional tools install into separate profile directories, verify their expected files, report start/success/failure, and wake the UI when finished. Removing a tool preserves other tools and externally managed installations.
  • Corrected Taplo asset URLs, native gzip/zip extraction, executable permissions, and profile-local npm/Go installation. Missing package managers receive actionable errors. Newly installed language servers become available to existing buffers and prompts.
  • Notices outside the editor appear as toasts instead of disappearing into an absent editor status row.
  • Failed main-frame navigation keeps the requested destination visible, including redirects; failed subframes do not replace the page address.
  • Local pages keep Plot’s dashed boundary without the additional colored loading strip. Loading state follows Chromium’s lifecycle and settles after completion or failure.
  • Sidebar hover runs before page-specific pointer handling, clears stale hide timers, and resamples the pointer when focus returns on supported desktops.
  • App Icon settings includes selectable artwork cards for the standard faces and earned Mercury. The selection persists; choosing another icon does not remove the Mercury badge.

Changes

  • Plot replaces local-site warning tape with four corner markers and quiet survey lines, including matching address and status marks.
  • Radiance adds a continuous loading bar with a real HDR highlight on supported native surfaces; stalled loads hold their position and completed loads settle without idle redraws.
  • First-window profile onboarding opens automatically again, without repeating in secondary or completed-profile windows.
  • Unified reading lists, saved commands, Markdown/JSON/CSV/text viewers, import flow, and Station Port Control improvements.
  • Video PiP follows the stream aspect ratio and offers configurable leave/return behavior.
  • GitHub update discovery, explicit installation, retained-package recovery, versioned profiles and component compatibility checks.
  • Local Mercury claims, encrypted nus-owned sensitive state, local secret redaction, and cross-platform process/file handling fixes.
