Upgrade Requirements & Notes
- This upgrade requires the existing system to be:
- Stock OS MOD v3.9.0 or higher
- Stock OS system build date after 20251206 (build date 20260521 or later is recommended; upgrades on older builds may cause unknown issues)
- Data installation will run on first system boot. Please be patient and do not manually power off or restart the device.

Where:
- A = Fresh flash (Method A)
- B = Online upgrade (Method B)
- C = Offline upgrade (Method C)
Upgrade Method A: Fresh flash of the OS image on Card 1
If your current system is Stock OS, or your MOD version is lower than v3.9.9, a fresh flash of the OS image on Card 1 is recommended.
(1) Download the compressed file matching your device model from one of the two sources below:

(2) Extract the .img image file
The downloaded files are two 7z split volumes. It is recommended to use 7-zip to extract the .img file.
(3) Write the .img file to Card 1 using the recommended software
Please back up any important data before writing.
- Windows: Rufus (recommended) or rpi-imager
- Linux: rpi-imager (recommended) or flash_dd_with_gpt.sh
- Mac OS: rpi-imager (recommended) or flash_dd_with_gpt (MacOS).sh
Note: After writing, no further action is needed. Insert the card immediately and power on. The first boot will automatically expand the game partition and install data.
(4) Online upgrade from v3.9.9 to v4.0.0
Except for the RGSP image which is already v4.0.0, all other model images are v3.9.9. Please follow "Upgrade Method B" or "Upgrade Method C" to complete the update.
Upgrade Method B: Online Upgrade
If your current system is Stock OS MOD v3.9.9, you can upgrade online directly to v4.0.0. If the MOD version is lower than v3.9.9, you can also upgrade to v4.0.0 online, but it is recommended to upgrade through "Upgrade Method A" first.
- Connect to WiFi
- Go to "App Center", and run "Modifiedd_System_online-Upgrade" in "APPS"
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade
Upgrade Method C: Offline Upgrade
- For RG28xx or RG35xx 2024 models (no WiFi), online upgrade is not available. You can use the offline upgrade package provided your current system is MOD v3.9.9.
- Other models can also use the offline upgrade package.
(1) Download the offline upgrade package

(2) Extract and copy the files
- Extract the downloaded package to obtain the "Roms" folder. Do not rename these files/folders to avoid breaking the upgrade.
- Copy the obtained "Roms" folder to the root directory of Card 1 or Card 2.
- Power on, go to "RA GAMES - PORTS", run the "Offline_update-v4.0.0" program, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
