What's New

Permissions Tab

A new third tab in the management TUI provides unified permission control for Claude Code:

  • Three-state permissions: [+] allow (auto-approved), [-] deny (auto-rejected), [ ] ask (prompt interactively). Cycle with space.
  • All built-in tools always visible: All 11 Claude Code tools (Agent, Bash, Edit, Glob, Grep, Read, Skill, ToolSearch, WebFetch, WebSearch, Write) are always shown regardless of their state.
  • Permission mode selector (m key): Choose between default, acceptEdits, auto, and bypassPermissions. When bypassPermissions is active, all entries are dimmed and toggling is blocked since all checks are skipped.
  • Profile presets (p key):
    • Read-only YOLO: Safe tools only with auto-classified read-only MCP tools from all configured servers. Mode: acceptEdits.
    • Full YOLO: Everything enabled across all servers. Mode: bypassPermissions.
    • None: Clear all permissions and reset mode.
  • MCP tool auto-classification: Uses server-provided annotations (ReadOnlyHint, DestructiveHint) and name-based heuristics (safe/unsafe prefixes) to classify tools during profile application.
  • Guided add flow (a key) with breadcrumb navigation:
    • Built-in tool selector
    • Bash pattern selector with common presets and custom input
    • MCP tool selector with three strategies: all tools (wildcard), read-only tools (auto-classified), or individual multi-select
  • Scope-aware inherited permissions: In project scope, user-scope permissions appear as grey/dimmed inherited items. Toggling creates a project-level override.
  • Auto-consolidation on save: Removes comment-only bash entries, duplicates, and permissions subsumed by wildcards (e.g., Bash(git:*) removed when bare Bash exists, individual MCP tools removed when mcp__* exists).
  • Custom YAML profiles: Place files in ~/.config/cc-setup/profiles/ for custom presets.
  • Consistent color scheme: Matches the visual language of the MCP Servers and Plugins tabs.
